Float Like a Butterfly, Think Like a Scientist! Join us to learn about the fascinating world of butterflies while also learning about the scientific method and data collection. Through engaging activities and hands-on experiences, participants will learn how scientists study butterfly populations and contribute to real scientific research.
This event will not only introduce Girl Scouts to the wonders of butterflies but will also lay the groundwork for future scientific inquiry. By fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and environmental awareness, this program aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and nature enthusiasts.
Girls Scouts will earn their Think Like a Citizen Scientist Award and learn about the Monarch butterfly and ways they can help conserve Oklahoma's Monarch Population.
Sign up as a troop or individual. Troops need leaders present who have Beyond the Meeting and First Aid Certification training. Troops need to follow all guidelines for a daytime trip outside of the regular troop meeting. Please be mindful of the girl to adult ratio for safety protocols and an optimal Girl Scout learning opportunity.
An individual caregiver may register their Girl Scout. The adult caregiver must remain on site during the event. All adults in attendance need to be registered Girl Scout members and have an approved background check on file with GSEOK.
